Im not sure why everyone is voting for vanilla and is planning to do all this stuff but most of the time not a single person is on...i think vanilla is dead on the server!

I think the summary of the situation is that of the people on the server, some dont want to play modded as well as the fact, many of the issues present in the vanilla server may quickly return after the creation of a modded server.

Im just saying if your trying to stand up for something actually participate in that activity!
And if your just voting for vanilla because you dont want modded but your not even going to play on the vanilla server please just remove your vote!
Its just making the poll less accurate of what it should be because your obviously not wanting to play either!

I am trying to get back into vanilla, but I see both sides. I have no further information to add, but look forward to reading more suggestions or ideas (my idea about hosting is still out there)

I have a different proposition, we're going to be divided on this matter so... How difficult would it be to alternate? Maybe every week or something? Now at the same time I dont want to create work for Chickn, but its an option. I'm no admin but I am happy to try help with anything. Tindam This wouldn't be too difficult at all, in fact, I've thought of doing this before, and I wouldn't mind playing vanilla every so often, but as others have pointed out a lot of the people that prefer one type will only play that type. It would also be harder to advertise the server, as we would have to explain that every week we switch from vanilla to so and so modpack, and most people who go hunting for servers are looking for one specific type of server, not one that changes every week. |

I personally am not that bothered, I play on the server now, and will play on the server if it goes modded.

 On a more serious note, I think it is fair enough to say that we are not going to agree on this situation, so I think it would be a good idea to find out how much people are willing to change. When I say that I mean, people who say modded, what other solutions would be ok in your opinion (dont just say "I ONLY WANT MODDED") because that wont get us anywhere, but say something like "I'd be willing to alternate" or whatever. Same for people who voted for vanilla. So for me, I voted to keep vanilla but I would be satisfied with any server. Tindam |

I'd love to alternate every week. I think that's the best option overall. We keep the people who want vanilla on and those who want modded on. Like tindam said above we have to compromise.

Although I'm in a bit of a unique situation, being that I want to play but the snapshots just lag my computer too much to play I might like a modded server. But with some mods there is just more lag so I kinda want vanilla minecraft and not a snapshot. Either way I don't feel obligated to vote due to my inability to play at all right now. But just in case you guys were thinking I was ignoring/left the server, I wasn't. I simply haven't been able to play. And since my return to the country I really wanted to play but the new update hadn't been released so I could not. But hopefully even if it comes down to either choice I can return to the community.
P.S. I was in Chile
P.S.S. I also think the above statements are so evenly true that I'm mostly undecided but If I had to vote, I'd go with mods but request many small mods and not any big technic like mods/packs.

I'd love some mods to spice things up, and I've had a ton of ideas for buildings that rely on mods (I'll probably forget about all the ideas though) so, I'm really pumped for this, might start my first mega build there! (If we actually do it, (I really hope we do. (But, just for clearing things up, are we? (*hopes*))))

I don't know at this point, there's been some more ideas tossed around between me and the other staff guys, so we might be doing things a bit differently. I can tell you for sure, though, that eventually we will have some form of a modded server for CharcoalChewers.
